The reduced shaping of horgenglarus chairs and tables is part of our craftsmanship. Our craftsmen's knowledge and capabilities are our main resource. Our unique selling point is our 100-year-old ability to bend even heavy or large pieces of wood, such as the backs, frames, and legs of our chairs. horgenglarus' DNA is wood bending. Here we steam pieces of wood so we can easily shape them in the bender. As the process spares the tree rings it maintains the wood's stability. This, together with its "finest, competent execution", as it says in a 1917 advertisement, is the secret of the chairs' unrivalled solidity. After the drying process, the backrests and seats are installed and the legs milled to the required height for the chairs. All the chairs and tables are polished by hand until the wood has a velvety look and feel. This is followed by painting, oiling or soaping, as requested. We always combine traditional workmanship with state-of-the-art technology, including CNC. This craftsmanship enables us to manufacture sophisticated projects requested by architects but also custom designs, and we can restore old chairs. For decades, our sustainable processes have been based on three pillars: visual longevity, unsurpassed manufacturing quality for permanence as well as regional materials with short transport distances. Chairs and tables for a small eternity. Certified by our "Handcrafted in Switzerland since 1880" guarantee
